Read the full guide
Real estate appraisers visit homes and buildings, measure them, compare recent sales and write reports that banks use for mortgages. Assessors value every property in a county or town so property taxes are fair. Personal property and business appraisers value things like antiques, jewelry, art, equipment or whole companies. Much of the job is research and report writing.
